Integrity. Quality. Expertise Issue 2: March 2010

Dear Reader

Welcome to our second ITPS enewsletter. Our intention is to ensure that you are kept up to date with all the very latest ICT news and products. In this issue we would like to look at the importance of a dedicated workplace recovery centre to help support your business continuity plan and raise your ability to recover from a disaster. Linked to this we also have an article on how automated IT infrastructure monitoring can help alert you to potential problems before they occur. We will share with you why we think Unified Comms should be on your shortlist for 2010 and finally, you can see in detail how we were able to help the Lake District National Park boost efficiency and reduce their environmental impact by the equivalent of planting 600 trees.

We hope you find the articles of interest and welcome any comments

PS: One of our marketing team, Janice Harvey is raising money for Great North Air Ambulance.  To help the cause please go to www.justgiving.com/JanTreksTheSahara

Workplace Recovery
Minimise the risk  to your organisation

Whilst bombs, fires and floods capture the headlines, almost 90% of disasters are 'quiet catastrophes'. It is these quiet catastrophes that also have the potential to damage your organisations most valuable assets, its data, brand and reputation. When the unforeseen happens and you can't access your premises, your organisation can be in real trouble.

Research shows that 40% of businesses hit by a serious event are unable to recover. Even the simplest disaster recovery plan could help save your company and having a place to carry out your organisations critical office activities is very important.Talk to ITPS to find out how you can minimise risk by having a tried and tested disaster recovery plan in place.

Automated Network Monitoring
Pro-active remote monitoring that alerts you to potential network issues

Efficient IT systems are critical to the successful running of an organisation and any downtime can create financial and customer service problems. It is no longer okay to do a simple physical check of the network once a week, fortnight or month. A business needs to be more pro-active and this is why an ever increasing number are using automated network monitoring.

This ensures that every morning before you start work all the essential checks have already been made, alerting you to any potential issues with your servers and PCs before they can cause problems.

For detailed information on how these automated checks can benefit your business go to ITPS website.
