Remote Network Monitoring

Our Remote Network Monitoring, System Patrol provides different levels of remote automated monitoring that highlights the health of your IT systems.

System Patrol provides you with a choice of ways to keep you informed about your IT infrastructure. Firstly, there is the Daily Health Check which advises you of the condition of your systems each morning.  This daily check is complimented with your choice of a weekly health reports that provide a one-page, once-per-week health analysis, or the comprehensive monthly client report that show trends and highlight issues on a wide range of systems.

What is the Daily Health Check?

The Daily Health Check runs a once a day check on your servers and PCs and provides a one-page summary showing the state of your:

  • Backup jobs
  • Anti-virus updates
  • Disk health
  • Exchange store size
  • Disk volume growth rates
  • Event logs
  • Hacker attempts.


Any questions that this raises or issues that it highlights can be raised with our dedicated support team who will investigate any issues with contracted support items. If you don’t have a support contract with us, then this monitoring gives you the information you need to prioritise your follow up actions.

 

What is the 24/7 Monitoring Service?


In addition to the Daily Health Check you can add in the 24/7 monitoring. This checks your critical systems every five or fifteen minutes – you choose which. Whenever it spots a problem, it sends an email or SMS alert showing the exact nature of the problem directly to us. And it updates our control panel in our office that shows the exact status of all our clients. We’ll see the true nature of the problem – rather than having to depend on best guestimate. That means it can be fixed faster boosting your overall uptime.   

What does it check?  

Every fifteen minutes, 24/7 Monitoring will…

  • Check that your server is up and running.
  • Check that you can connect to the internet, check your bandwidth and website
  • Check your Windows Services is working correctly and managing such things as your network access and your internet and print facilities.
  • Ping various network devices or remote offices that you need to do your work.
  • Check TCP ports on your network, on other networks or at your ISP. If any of these ports are failing to respond, you may be unable to connect and do your job.
  • Check disk space to ensure it is below a set threshold.
  • Check RAID devices to ensure that all disks are functioning correctly and data is safe.

 

Hardware and Software Asset Tracking

 

System Patrol as part of the IT infrastructure check provides an at a glance online audit of your IT assets. Just click on the report and identify such things as serial numbers, product keys, software versions, processor type, memory and a complete licenses list, plus view a log of the modifications that have been made over a specified time period.
